DELINEATOR Receives Texas ASLA 2022 Award of Merit for The Plaza at Solana

DELINEATOR received the 2022 Merit Award in the Design Constructed category from the Texas Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects for their work on The Plaza at Solana.

DELINEATOR’s consultant team for the project includes: Mitchell Garman Architects, RLG Engineers, Hines, Inc., Bollinger-Yates and Ronald A. Roberts Associates Inc.

The Plaza at Solana is a courtyard renovation located within a larger campus originally designed in 1987 by Ricardo Legorreta and Peter Walker. In order to serve the current multi-tenant uses of the Plaza at Solana, the proposed design seeks to preserve the memory of Solana Town Centre by understanding and reincorporating concepts and elements of the original design in a way that is sensitive to the context and end user. The result is a multi-functional plaza that accommodates the adjacent tenants as well as the greater community of the Town of Westlake. DELINEATOR was the prime consultant and worked directly with the owner team to carefully create a meaningful renovation of the outdoor space.

DELINEATOR receives Texas ASLA 2020 Honor Award for Zhengzhou Nature + Exhibition Center

DELINEATOR received the 2020 Honor Award from the Texas Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects for their work on The Zhengzhou Nature + Exhibition Center in Zhengzhou, China. (Architect: Callison-RTKL)

The Zhengzhou Nature and Exhibition Center is a project designed to provide citizens an opportunity to connect with nature and provide relief from the intensity of urban China.  The landscape design integrates the building program with the landscape to achieve this goal through carefully seating the building into a constructed hillside made up of wetland terraces that purify water to maintain a habitat pond.  The historic landscape uses are referenced in the agricultural and informal riparian forest plantings that embrace and protect the project site from the rapidly developing urban context.

DELINEATOR receives Texas ASLA 2020 Merit Award for Kunming Tower Park

DELINEATOR received the 2020 Merit Award from the Texas Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects for their work on Kunming Tower Park in Kunming, China. (Architect: Callison-RTKL)

Kunming Tower Park is an urban multi-tower development that integrates adjacent public open space to create a multi-level urban landscape and public plaza. The integrated site and architectural design proposes multiple connections such as pedestrian sky bridges to connect public park spaces to the towers and central plaza.  This pedestrian “thread” weaves through the heart of the development both above and below the ground level of the tower to negotiate the needs of residents of the tower, hotel guests, and corporate employees. The landscape architectural team collaborated closely with the architect and consultant group through rapid design iteration to develop the integrated proposal.

DELINEATOR receives Texas ASLA 2019 Honor Award for The Mill City Teaching Farm

DELINEATOR received the 2019 Honor Award from the Texas Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects for The Mill City Teaching Farm. The design for the Mill City Teaching Farm addresses the long-term environmental, financial, and social sustainability for the project by using an integrated, multi-enterprise approach that focuses on minimizing yearly labor and resource requirements while maximizing community and teaching opportunities at the farm. This is viewed by many donors and the Mill City Community Association as a catalyst for change in the neighborhood by providing healthy and safe educational opportunities for local children and a source of pride for the community through a new urban farm model.

DELINEATOR receives Texas ASLA 2019 Honor Award for “Planting Of Mexico City” research publication

DELINEATOR received the 2019 Honor Award from the Texas Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects for their work on Planting For Oceania: Research as Resource.

The Oceania plant book for Mexico City is a graphic communication piece to engage clients to help them understand comprehensively the project design as well as a tool for owners to be able to update the planting design of the retail spaces without undermining the original design intent.  The design team performed extensive on-the-ground research in order to build a comprehensive plant palette based on horizontal and vertical applications in a variety of growing conditions.  The final product becomes a resource for the life of the project and a tool for understanding and appreciating the original design.
