Behind Our Name - DELINEATOR

DELINEATOR began in 2012 as a partnership between Michael Averitt and Lauren Fasic as a design competition collaboration.  The name was selected as a reference to architectural hand-renderers, not for stylistic reasons, but in assuming their anonymity.  These professionals were judged based on the craft and quality of each and every drawing they made rather than the name on the rendering.  Similarly, we believe our practice is about the quality of the work and ideas put forward and not about the names of the individuals that area leading it. This notion further supports the belief that design is truly a collaborative process.

Only after starting the Dallas office in 2017, Lauren Fasic discovered that DELINEATOR was also the name of a women's style and fashion magazine from the late 19th and early 20th Century - a heritage that has since been embraced as well.
